The rooster boss and its associated history theme also sounds like it could be fun in the context of a real Cuphead boss, though the only animation that provides that sort of historical connection that I can think of right now is 'The Golden Touch'), set in the Middle Ages. First phase could be based at least in part on the nightmare sequence from 'The Cat's Out' before the witch herself arrives, and the last phase could involve her transforming in a similar fashion to the evil queen's transformation scene from Disney's Snow White. The witch boss definitely has potential on her own, perhaps starting with one of her cat familiars before she arrives on the scene. Theres also the factor that Cuphead had a strong 1930s aesthetic (Even the robot had an old-timey appearance to it) and feel while this game features things that dont match the period at all like the 50s rooster and cow with a UFO. But I wouldn't be surprised if people are hating it because it's too similar to Cuphead and looks like a rip-off. The animation in the trailer seemed quite a bit worse than the animation from the kickstarter trailer, but I chalked that up to my foggy memory and gave it benefit of. But again, this is just speculation and I'd have to see more of Enchanted Portals alongside the specific things people are saying to actually prove/disprove my suspicions. Today, after hearing the news about the game’s release, I immediately looked up the official release trailer. I could imagine an owl conductor as the main presence of the fight, perhaps styled after the likes of Mozart or Vivaldi (if Beethoven would be too obvious, which I feel kinda would be). A trailer has been revealed for an upcoming video game called Enchanted Portals that bears more than a passing resemblance to Cuphead and fans have been calling out the developers on social media for stealing the concept of their game. Enchanted Portals, The Prime Example Of Everything Bad About Games. Perhaps the princess and conductor bosses could be merged into a night-time lake battle with an orchestral focus, based on the 1930 animation 'Night'). High Noon Hoopla probably renders the buffalo and cow bosses redundant (the former for the Wild West theme, the latter because of Esther Winchester herself), and the UFO theming of the latter might be a bit too anachronistic anyway. The Switch and PC project hasnt even made it to Kickstarter yet, but. If connections can be made between any of them and real animations from the 1930s, I think there could be a case for it. A new and 'magical' 2D platformer titled Enchanted Portals has come under fire for its close resemblance to Cuphead.
